I am based in the Cotswolds, close to the beautiful village of Broadway, Worcestershire, UK. Providing classic and contemporary picture framing, gilding, and frame restoration services for art galleries, dealers, museums, and artists. I mainly do work for art trade clients, and for some existing private clients, I can currently take on a limited number of framing orders from new customers.
I make handmade gesso and water gilded frames for contemporary and modern artwork. Gilding is often combined with painted and colour washed sections to suit the individual piece of work. I also make frames in solid woods (oak, walnut, ash, obeche, beech etc.) which can be stained, waxed, polished, or painted. The mountboards I use as standard are Alphamat Artcare and cotton museum, and various glazing choices are kept in stock such as; Tru Vue Museum, Anti-Reflective, Conservation, and Perspex.
Selling antique frames is a large part of my business, and I have several hundred antique frames in stock. These frames can be used for antique paintings, mirrors, contemporary art, or can hang by themselves as works of art in their own right. If no suitable antique frame is available, I can make and supply reproduction antique gilt frames in many different historical styles using traditional techniques.
With 30 years of experience working with fine art and picture frames, I can advise you on the most suitable mounting and framing methods for your valuable and collectable art, and frame it to an archival and museum standard. I enjoy framing very much and hope that reflects in the work I produce.
A small selection of my work and frames can be seen below. Thank you for visiting my website.
